Dany Blind is a retired Dutch footballer who played as a central defender. He was born on August 1, 1961, in Oost-Souburg, Netherlands. Blind played for various football clubs throughout his career, including Ajax, Sparta Rotterdam, FC Groningen, and the Dutch national team.
After retiring from professional football, Blind went on to become a football coach. He served as an assistant coach for the Dutch national team and worked under coaches like Louis van Gaal, Bert van Marwijk, and Guus Hiddink. In 2014, he became the head coach of the Netherlands national football team, succeeding the outgoing coach, Louis van Gaal.
Blind's tenure as the Dutch national team coach, however, was not very successful, and the team failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He was subsequently sacked in March 2017.
Blind's son, Daley Blind, is also a professional footballer who currently plays for Ajax Amsterdam and the Dutch national team.
